Certificate of Appreciation

When I told the milk bank that I was finished donating milk, they sent me this certificate of appreciation. I thought it was kind of funny. =) If you ever need a place to donate, they are a great organization and were wonderful to work with.

What A Weekend!!

On her way to Oma and Opa's house while enjoying her sucker
We had quite the eventful weekend. Caroline went and spent the weekend with her Oma and Opa. From all the picture, she had a great time and enjoyed lots of Oma's good cooking!

While Caroline was with Oma and Opa, Stephen was on a guy's hunting trip. He was supposed to be home today, but due to the expected bad weather, he will most likely not be home until Wednesday. =(

And the most exciting thing was my tennis tournament!!! When we moved back in the fall, I decided I was going to start playing tennis again, so I did and have loved every.single.minute of it and have met so many wonderful people!! It is so much fun!! I took lessons growing up but never played in matches. This weekend was the Walton Winter Classic. I played women's doubles with Betty. I unfortunately forgot to take a picture because we didn't play until 10:30 Friday night. We lost but we played fairly well. Then Saturday, I played mixed doubles with Jason, and we won. Then, we played two more matches Sunday, made it to the finals Sunday night, and we WON!!!!!! I was soooo excited especially since it was my first tournament!! Here is a picture of Jason and I with our prizes after we won our final match...

Snow Day

Remember this outfit?? Well, we were able to reuse it this year. It was a little small, but it worked perfectly! I actually think she liked wearing it, and she definitely liked wearing it more than she did last year. We aren't very prepared for snow around here! But it came yesterday, and thankfully it is mostly gone today. Caroline loved being outside in it, and I was freezing. Dixie loved it too, and Max only liked it because we were all out there. Hah. Thankfully, we live in the south where it doesn't snow very often. =)

Fun in the Pudding

Last night, we made some chocolate pudding. To say this little girl was loving it is a huge understatement!! She was in pudding heaven. =)

She had three shots and a great appointment. M&M's helped her get through the shots. =) Here are her stats at 18 months.

Valentine's Day Nursing Home Visit

This morning we went and visited a local nursing home and handed out Valentine's goodies to the residents. They all enjoy seeing the kids each holiday. Caroline is a little small to really enjoy going, but I know it is good for her to be with the other kids and see all the sweet people there.

Sick {Update}

Caroline took a good long nap yesterday, then when she woke up, we noticed a welt on her backside. I immediately freaked out and called the pediatrician and they got her in within an hour.  Well after being on Amoxicillin for three days {and she has also been on it a few times in her first year}, she was having an allergic reaction that resulted in hives. Thankfully, they don't seem to bother her. This picture below is when we were waiting to see the doctor. They had gotten worse from the time we noticed them and when we arrived at the doctor's office. So long story short, no more Amoxicillin for our little girl. By the time she went to bed last night, they had changed their position, and then this morning they are pretty much gone. Now we are just hoping and praying they stay gone and that she will start feeling better!!

Sick

Caroline has had a cough for the past two weeks. It got better, and then it got worse again and developed into something more. On Saturday night, she started running a little fever, so on Sunday we decided to take her to the urgent care. They gave her antibiotic, but she has yet to improve. So we made a trip to her pediatrician today, and he said it is just going to have to run its course. I hate that she doesn't feel 100%, but thankfully it doesn't seem to be bothering her too bad. Here are some pictures of our sick girl...

18 Months

We are loving this stage right now!! Caroline is so much fun! There really isn't much baby left to our little girl which makes my heart sad and happy at the same time! She weighs around 24.5lbs. She is pretty much eating all big people food. She likes pretty much everything we give her which makes feeding her nice {and fun}. Whats really funny is that my mom is doing Jenny Craig, and Caroline loves their food!!! She is also still sleeping great! She has the sweetest personality, and it is definitely starting to show. However, this girl can throw some temper tantrums, and I hear from her Oma that she must get it from her Daddy!! She is still wearing size 4 diapers, and 18-24 month clothes. She has the smallest feet. She is still wearing size 4 shoes. She has about 12 teeth, and some of the molars are coming in and they just look painful! She had her first Happy Meal a couple weeks ago with her cousin Henry, they both LOVED them. She loves playing with her baby dolls, and she loves to tell us "SHHHH" when they are "sleeping". She loves to help out. If you give her a wet wipe, she will start wiping the floor. She can make a few animal sounds and say about 15 words/phrases. She is doing great at Mother's Day Out and at the gym. She actually hasn't been crying when I leave her which is such a relief. She loves both of our dogs, and they like/tolerate her. She loves saying "Dixie", but Dixie often runs from her which then Caroline thinks is a game so she chases Dixie. Max likes to be with Caroline and me wherever we are in the house. We also got her a children's Bible for Christmas, and she loves reading it at bedtime. She is such a blessing in our lives, and we couldn't be more thankful for her!

Sloppy Tacos

We were planning on attending a Super Bowl party with our small group; however, little miss got sick on Saturday night which resulted in a trip to the urgent care Sunday morning which then lead to our own Super Bowl party at home. I had already bought everything I needed to make my dish for Sunday night, so I went ahead and made it for us to enjoy! It is a "fancied up" version of cheese dip.

Sloppy Tacos

Ingredients:
1lb. Ground Beef
1lb. Velveeta, cubed
1 can Rotel
1 can Pinto Beans {drained}
1 box of 4Star Chili
1 pint Whipping Cream

Directions:
Brown meat, drain. Place Velveeta and Rotel in crock-pot  Stirring occasionally until it starts to melt. Then add the beans, chili, ground beef, and 1/2 of whipping cream. Stir until good and melted, then add the other 1/2 of the whipping cream. Serve with chips or tortillas.

Guten Appetit
