Newborn Pictures by Brenda Horan Photography

We had Caroline's newborn pictures done when she was 8 days old. I scheduled these back in April, and I could NOT wait to have them done! Tulsa photographer, Brenda Horan did the pictures, and she did a FABULOUS job!! We bought the package so that we get pictures done every 3 months, and I cannot wait!! Brenda also did her birth announcement, and it is absolutely beautiful too!!
If you ever need pictures done, I highly recommend her because she does awesome work and has been wonderful to work with!! She also has a gorgeous studio! =)
Here are a few of her pictures!!

First Few Days

We came home from the hospital on Friday, July 29th and she weighed 5lbs13oz. We had our first doctor's appointment on Monday. Her weight had dropped to 5lbs11ozs. They also took her bilirubin and it was a 20, so she was pretty jaundice. They suggested we do the in-home photo therapy lights for 24 hours and then recheck her. It was pretty tough watching her laying under the light with goggles on, BUT SHE LOVED IT! She is very cold-natured, so the heat felt great! She could only come out from the lights to eat and change her diaper. We also decided that I would start pumping so that we could feed her a bottle to cut down on the time that she was out of the lights. When we went back to the doctor the next day, her bilirubin had dropped to a 14, and she had gained 2.5ozs in 24 hours!! We were very excited about both of these because it meant she didn't have to be under the light and she was getting closer to be being back at birthweight. We went to the doctor again on Thursday, August 4th and she was up to 6lbs.

UPDATE: Two week doctor's appointment was today, August 11th, and she weighed 6lbs11ozs and is 20.25 inches long!

Introducing Caroline Louise Lieux

I can't believe she is here and ALREADY TWO WEEKS OLD!!

I had a doctor's appointment on July 20th, and because my blood pressure had been high the past three weeks, my doctor decided that I should be induced. I knew that it would be the best for me and for Caroline. My doctor was scheduled to be on call the next Wednesday, July 27th, so we had to be at the hospital at 5PM Tuesday night to begin the induction process. Once we were checked in and settled into our room, they inserted the cervical softener and left it in until 4 the next morning. At 4am, they removed the softener and began the Pitocin drip. My doctor broke my water at 8:30am. After that, I progressed very quickly and requested my epidural around 10am. Like I said, I had progressed pretty quickly in the morning, but then everything kind of stopped progressing around 2pm. They had to slow the drip, then speed it up, etc. trying to get my contractions regulated. When my doctor checked me around 6:30-7pm, I had dilated to around and 8. Shortly after, she checked me again and I was a 9, so they started setting up the room for delivery! I started pushing around 7:45 and....

Caroline was born at 8:46pm, and we couldn't be happier! She was 6lbs2oz and 18.75inches! We feel so blessed to have such a beautiful and healthy baby girl! Our family and friends have been awesome through this whole process as we adjust to life with a baby, and our church family has gone above and beyond with visiting and bringing us delicious meals each night too!

Here are a few pictures from our time at the hospital:
