Some October Pictures

I think Oma introduced this girl to a TV tray. She loves eating off of them and thinks it is such a treat!

Silly girl trying on "glasses"

Mrs. Amberley gave Caroline her first haircut.

Her first french braid

The preschool ministry at church had "superhero" dress-up day. We had to borrow Henry's shirt. Ha!

Halloween Nursing Home Visit

Yesterday, we had our annual holiday visit to the nursing home for Halloween! The older Caroline gets, the more fun it is to go each time! I think she was mostly excited about another chance to wear her Minnie Mouse costume. Ha!

Caroline's going to be a BIG SISTER!!

Well we finally decided that if there was a slight chance we wanted another kid, we probably shouldn't wait much longer. I had always said I wanted my kids to be two years apart, but then I had one. Caroline was the easiest baby, but once she got out of the "baby" stage it was really hard to imagine going back through it again. So here we are now... and our kids will be almost four years apart. Ha! We are very excited to be welcoming a new one to the family, and I know Caroline will be the BEST big sister! We found out the beginning of September that we were expecting, and we waited to tell our families at around 8 weeks. I didn't really do a pregnancy reveal with Caroline, so I was excited to do it this time! I ordered custom fortune cookies, then we all went to eat at PF Changs. We had given our waiter the cookies prior to everyone arriving, so at the end of the meal he gave us those instead of their standard ones! It worked perfectly! Our moms were DEFINITELY surprised. I think we had fooled them into thinking that we would only have one kid. =)

Praise Party

Caroline's school invited the parents to come to their "praise party". It wasn't really a party, but just a time that we could come be a part of their worship time. It was a lot of fun seeing the songs they do, and how much fun they have! It was also nice to hear the song in its entirety when normally we just catch bit and pieces of it from when Caroline sings it at home. Ha! She loved having mommy, daddy, and Mimi with her. They were supposed to wear rainbow colors, so we borrowed Annabel's birthday shirt from her rainbow party. =)

Green Light

We've had the on-going battle at our house of staying in bed/sleeping all night!!! Pretty much ever since we did the whole potty training thing eight months ago, Caroline has decided she doesn't want to sleep all night. She wakes up saying she needs to potty, and at first it was just once a night {which I was kind of OK with}. However, recently it had almost turned into waking up three or four times a night which I was NOT OK with. The child has been the most perfect sleeper for the first 2.5 years of her life, so this was a drastic change for us! As the multiple times a night continued on and on, we decided to get her a toddler clock that will turn green when it is time to get up! It partially worked, but then after a few nights she began to just ignore it and still woke up over and over. Last week, we finally did the last thing we knew to do, and it has changed our nights!!!!!!!!!!! We changed the lock on her door!! She screamed, not cried, like mad-screamed the night we did it. But she eventually got in bed, tucked herself in, and went to sleep! The first couple nights she woke up two or three times to see if the door was locked, and then she would get right back in bed and go back to sleep. After doing this over a week now, I will say she is sleeping all night and going to bed without a fight!!
GLORIOUS!!
She has her eye on this Minnie Mouse tricycle, so when she continues this great sleeping habit again we are going to get it for her, or maybe Santa will bring it! =)

Our Little Cubbie

Caroline started Awanas this year at our church. She is in the Cubbies class is loving it. We are eating dinner on Wednesday nights at church, and while she goes to choir and Awanas, I'm doing a Beth Moore Bible study. She got her vest a couple weeks ago at the "awards" ceremony, and last night, she was "awarded" her first two patches. She is pretty proud! And of course, we are so proud of her! Thankful for this opportunity for her to hide God's Word in her heart.
