Farmland Adventures

Yesterday, we headed out to Farmland Adventures with our play group. This was my first time there, and now I know why the kids love it so much! There is so much to do! Caroline rode the ponies, pet a goat, went on a wagon ride, and so much more! I thought the weather was going to be perfect, but it was HOT! We were all sweating. I'm ready for fall and especially ready for the fall weather!

Welcome to Farmland!
She couldn't wait to ride the ponies
The wagon ride was my favorite - they gave us tortillas to feed the cows, but I just loved seeing the horses. So beautiful!
Having fun running around the hay-bails
Yeah, most kids were taking there shoes off to play in the corn- definitely not my daughter!

My Puppy

Last night, we had to run an errand, so we decided to take Caroline to Build-a-Bear. It was so cute to watch her; I'm not sure she knew what to think about everything. She saw the German Shepherd dog on display, so that's the one we decided to get. She loves her new dog that she calls "My Puppy".

She put him to bed at night in his "house" after bath time.

So Much

I kind of miss doing the monthly updates like the first year. Caroline is up to so much these days that I just don't want to forget any of it!! I know I updated on her second birthday, but I feel like she has changed so much even since then. Her little personality is just starting to blossom. I feel like it doesn't take her as long to warm up to people anymore. She is such a blessing, and I just love getting to spend my days with her. She makes me laugh and smile all the time, but she definitely can test me on some days. Like yesterday, she climbed on the end table at the car dealership. She thought it was cute, but mommy did NOT! Thankfully, no one was in the waiting area with us.

She is saying some of the funniest things right now. She saw the spare tire on my car the other morning, and she said "de dirty" followed by "de awful". =))

She puts "de" in front of most things she says. It's cute. Oma says she is speaking German =)

She loves to point her finger and say "I be back". After she screamed like I haven't seen in a long time on her first day of Mother's Day Out, I've been giving her some pep talks before I drop her off at the gym, school, church, etc. Well when I dropped her off at school the other day, she was standing in her classroom and pointed at me and said "You be back". I just laughed. Atleast, I know that she has been listening to our "talks".

She refers to cousin Henry as "Hen". She won't even attempt the "ry" part. She can also say her name.

She is still loving her baby dolls, and she is such a good little momma to them. However, she doesn't want their clothes on. I'm not sure where this came from, but she wants the clothes off!!

She is really good at giving hugs and kisses. I just love when she puts both arms around my neck. Melts.my.heart. If she kisses one cheek, then she must kiss the other one too. So sweet.

She is also in a phase where she wants us to "watch her". She likes to jump off the bottom of her slide {not to freak anyone out- its only a couple inch jump, ha!}. But she will stand on the bottom and say "watch me mommy". Then she jumps, and she thinks it is so funny. She gets pretty proud of herself too!

Our neighbors moved in across the street a month or so ago, and she loves them and all their animals. She goes to them as if they are family, and they are so sweet to her. We walked outside last night, and she kept saying "mow mow" and pointing to their house. Once we got inside, she wanted to play with their cat. I had no idea what she was talking about.

My favorite thing that she is up to these days is saying "I wuv ou", and it just melts my heart {and makes me teary eyed}. I love this sweet girl more than she will ever know!!

Family Time

This past weekend while I was in Little Rock, some of Stephen's family came to Fayetteville for the Razorback game vs. Southern Mississippi. Unfortunately, they came to cheer for Mississippi. Ha! I was so sad not to be able to see them, but I am glad Stephen and Caroline were able to spend some time with them. The last time we saw his cousin was at our wedding almost four years ago and now we each have kids!!
Aunt Patti, Jack, Katie, Stephen, Caroline, and Opa
Daddy even managed to dress Little Lady in her Razorback clothes on game day!

Pictures

I noticed this morning that I had a lot of random pictures lingering on my phone...

We went to Fort Smith for the day last night, and Caroline wanted Ruby to ride on her lap. Doesn't look to comfortable to me...
After her nap, she insisted on mommy taking a nap with the babies. She covered me up and kiss me night night.
I was very thankful for these two men last week!! As my friend and I were standing on the side of the road reading the owners manual, these two guys showed up and finished the work! We did manage to get the car jacked up before they showed up, and they were impressed we even put the jack in the correct location.
Enjoying a little Nutella for breakfast

As a result of the flat tire, we had to spend over an hour waiting for it to be replaced. Thankful they had books and chairs to entertain her. We arranged and rearranged the chairs. =)
She was very proud of the "boat" she drew
Just fixing her hair =))
She loves to cross her legs

These ducks entertained her for awhile. Again, she arranged, rearranged, rearranged, then she stepped back to admire her work. Ha!!
Love this picture of her with Pop! I will cherish it for years! That smile gets to me!!

State

I spent the past weekend in Little Rock at the state tennis tournament for my mixed team. It was so much fun, and it was so nice to just get away for the weekend! I was planning on driving down by myself until I got a flat tire on Thursday and didn't have time to get it fixed. So I ended up going with another couple on our team and it was a blast! The most exciting part was that we WON and now have the opportunity to go to sectionals in Alabama!!

Our team with THE banner
Cindy and I -- thankful she let me hitch a ride with her and her husband on the way down!
Jason and I -- due to our rankings, we played together all season

the infamous bag tag!! Whoop whoop {You only get this if you win state ;)}

Shannon, Jennifer, and I watching the last match
Shannon and I were roomies for the weekend
Evening out at dinner
Celebration lunch at Cantina Laredo because we were going to the FINALS!!
So thankful to have been on this team with these girls!!

Outdoor Fall Decorations

Today was the day I finally decided to decorate.... I really can't remember the last time I decorated for a season or holiday. We either had a young baby or were in the process of moving or something. While Caroline was napping, I got some of our fall decorations out of the attic, and then this evening we put them out. She loved the scarecrows, and every time I put them somewhere she rearranged them. =) I can't wait to decorate for Christmas with those little helping hands!!

Mother's Day Out

Caroline started mother's day out today, and she was really excited about it until we got to her classroom. She cried, screamed, and wanted her mommy!! I know it is just a phase that she has to go through until she gets use to her teachers and new classroom. When I picked her up, she was super happy and very very talkative, so I know she had a good day once she overcame the dropping off part. =)

We also had dance after mother's day out... not sure these two can be any cuter!!

Water Weekend

I just love weekends especially since we aren't traveling every weekend like we were when we lived in Oklahoma! On Friday night, Caroline stayed with Mimi and Papa while Stephen and I went to see Jersey Boys. It was so good and we actually knew a few of the songs! Mimi and Papa took her to Farmland Adventures. She had never been, but it definitely sounded like an adventure-- feeding goats, petting pigs, and riding the horses!

We met up for breakfast on Saturday to pick her up, then we headed up to the splash pad in Bentonville. I wasn't sure if she would enjoy it, but she did!!

Then Saturday night, our neighbors invited us over for some swimming and BBQ. He competes in BBQ competitions, and now I know why. I'm not even a big fan of BBQ, but it seriously was awesome!! Caroline loved it too!! She even hit a big milestone while swimming-- she did it all by herself! Normally she wants to hold our hands while she floats around, but not now! She wants to do it by herself!!

She loved swimming with the "older" girls!

Corn Dip

This recipe is so easy and delicious!! I made it almost four years ago for the first time, and I had forgotten about it. And now we've had it three times in the past week!

Corn Dip

Ingredients:
8 oz sour cream
1 and 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese {or more=)}
2 cans whole kernel corn, drained
2-4.5 oz cans chopped green chiles, drained
1 cup of mayo
Jalapeno slices
Tony C's seasoning

Directions:
Mix all ingredients together and add as many jalapeno's as you like. For us, I only added about three-four slices!
